AI enables incredible creative opportunities, but can mislead viewers if they don't know the content was generated or edited with AI. Labeling helps make that context clear—which is why at TikTok, we proactively label AIGC when we detect it, and also require creators to label realistic AIGC they upload to the platform. 

These past months have been particularly exciting for me, as I have spent a considerable chunk of my time and energy developing and launching a global educational AIGC transparency initiative to raise awareness of our AIGC tools and policies, and ultimately help our community feel more confident about navigating content on TikTok (and beyond). 

Here's the twist: To create this campaign, we have decided to embrace the technology. Deepfaking, AI-dubbing, entirely AI-generated elements—you name it, we have it! To say that this creative development was particularly challenging and unpredictable would be an understatement, as we repeatedly had to balance out our creative vision with quirks innate to the technology.
